Better News
Apparently my ankle is having problems from a fall I took when I was younger, and the reason I keep on twisting my ankle is because at that the time of my youngster fall, I must have torn some ligaments from my ankle. Now I have a small floating bone that, luckily, doesn't cause me many problems. I will continue to have a weak ankle unless I have it operated on, but the catch is since this is an old injury, we don't know if surgery will help or not. I need to go and see a specialist if I want any real answers. Can anyone guess what I'm choosing to do about this? If you guessed nothing then your right. If my some small possibility I have NOTHING happening over the summer (keep in mind I have 5 kids) then I will look into options then. On a lighter note, Emma's doctor said that her surgery would be a out-patient type thing and that I can stay local for it and not drive an hour to get back out to her office. YEAH!!!!!!!!!

Good/Bad News. Depends on how you want to look at it.
Well I figured out why Rita was so clingy last week. She has a double ear infection. We now have her on meds and she seems to be doing better. Sometimes. In other news, Mita now gets to spend the night in a hospital. The Doctor want to see if she is getting enough oxygen at night. Oh gee. She's very nervous about the whole idea but I am trying to play it up as this big slumber party for her and Mom only. Hasn't worked so far. Anyway after that Mita will probably need pieces of her throat removed. See what a fun time we are having here? If the doctor says I need to have surgery on my foot (feel last week and sprained it good) than that will make November the perfect month don't you think? Sorry I'm trying to keep a light hearted spin on this. Wish me luck! I'll need it.

My Head Must Not Be Screwed On Tight
I have been reading two great books lately but right now I can't find either one of them. I started to read The Peacegiver by James L. Ferrell but lost the book when I was half way through (great book by the way). A week later I was antsy for something else to read so I started The Five Love Languages of Children by Gary Chapman & Ross Campbell, but then I got stopped reading it because it made me feel like a horrible parent and I want to go back to reading The Peacegiver so I knew there was still hope for me. But now I can't find either book and I left with wasting my time on the computer (never I good option for me). What do you do when you can't find your book or when books make you feel like a terrible person?

Where do you draw the line of giving kids the attention they need to be happy and giving them too much attention and having spoiled children?

Off the Sugar High
I need to say for the record, NEVER EVER LET ME HAVE THAT MUCH SUGAR AGAIN! Even my kids agree that Mom should limit her sugar supply. I was fine on Saturday as long as I kept my sugar level up. (Did I mention that none of my pants fit) But on Sunday when I couldn't get any sugar (by choice) I was one mean Mommy. I know that it was because I was going through withdrawals. I just need to make a note of the fact that I cannot have a bunch of sugar again next year because life is not pretty. If I'm this bad on sugar can you imagine what I would be like on something much more addicting? Yikes!! Thank goodness I haven't tried anything stronger than Caffeine. Well I'm almost off my mean mode and feel like I'm getting back to normal. Just please remind me next October to lay off the sugar if I love a pleasant life. That plus next year I'll have a Jr. High girl here, she'll be moody enough without mom going Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.

Feed Me Feed Me!
Okay as most of you can guess, I'm probably ADHD. Shocker I know, but I have learned that if I can keep sugar in my system to a low than I usually do okay. For instance if I have sugar after 6pm (or there abouts) at night I don't sleep well because my brain is going 90 miles an hour and just can't calm down to sleep. If I have sugar first thing in the morning on a empty stomach I get an amazing sugar rush. Here's the problem, I just guzzles several oz. of Root beer. I kept on telling myself don't do, don't do it. Have some yummy homeade bread first, bread good, soda bad. Take the bread. Well the bread lost and I am now typing to you and shaking while I do that. Honestly I am sitting here shaking. I was hoping this would calm me down. Nope! Gotta run!

Busy as a slumbering bee
I know I'm not as busy as I really should be but I feel busy. And when I get a minute to blog I can't remember what I wanted to blog about. I know maybe I should just give updates as to how we are doing.
Hubby is still trying to finish his shed hopefully we will get it done before the weather turns on us. Let me rephrase that, we WILL have it done this week.
Cutey(Me) Is still trying to figure out what I'm doing in my new calling. And getting frustrated with my "M" key because it works half the time. HELP!
Chicka is having fun in school but is unhappy that she couldn't vote for who she wanted. The kids at the school got to vote and she wanted to vote for Josh Groban but the program wouldn't let her and she's pretty mad.
Munchkin is happy and just finished up her first play. Her class in school just performed the Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
Mita is trying hard in school but still struggles with the concept but has plenty of people looking out for her.
Mister is loving preschool but thinks that as soon as he turns 5 will be going to Kindergarten. We have this discussion weekly but to no avail.
Rita is off her Binky and is not happy about it. We are all suffering along with her but staying strong.

Let sleepy babies lie.
I love a good nights sleep. I always feel so good in the morning when I get enough sleep. My children seem to feel the same way too. They are usually happy kids if they have had enough sleep. Than why am I sitting here at 10:30 at night waiting for them to fall asleep? I'll give Rita a break because she never wants to sleep now that we took her off the plug (YEAH FOR HUBBY AND I), but the other kids should be asleep by now. I might have to go Nazi for a week and get the kids back on track. Now if only I could stay Nazi for a longer period of time than a week we would have a well running house. But I have to remind myself, work with yourself not against yourself. Problem is I don't like working for myself. I'm a bad employer. Anyway have a better night than me!!!

If Money Talks, I Whisper. (warning I ramble in this one)
I was reading an article the other day about the new Star Trek movie that said that they are going to try and make the franchise's more main stream and ,their words, more pop culture. Ewww!!!!! I love Star Trek and I love how it has it's own universe. I also liked it because it was a little different. I mean a few characters DIDN'T have massive makeup. But now the Star Trek people are looking at how fresh the Star Wars Franchise is doing (personally I didn't think that Star Wars WAS doing better, just more lame) and they are also looking how well the Comic book Heroes are doing and Paramount wants another slice of the pie. And what better way to have more pie that to completely make a NEW pie. Problem is I like the old pie. Someone once said about the media that they are always trying to make new pie recipes but don't realize that America LIKES apple pie. Especially if Lincoln is making it. Oh boy is that good! Anyway I'm here to say that I must now be OLD because the Media people don't care what I think because in my opinion my opinion is worthless because I know how to spend money wisely. Which is funny to think about because in my twenties I did go to several movies and some of them multiple times in the Theater but since I can now wait until later my vote doesn't count. It's like the saying "Vote early and vote often." But don't do that on November 4th because that is a crime.

Doth my ears decieve me?
For several years now I have been arguing with Chicka as to whether or not breakfast is important. Since we don't have the benefit of having thousands of commercials screaming at my kids that Cocco Puffs is part of this healthy diet (have you noticed that "this" healthy diet has toast fruit and orange juice in the picture as well, I always laugh at that). So my kids have had to take my word for it that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Well a couple of days ago Chicka was complaining about being tired and not being able to concentrate in Math which is taught right before lunch. She asked if she could take some cut up apples to help her stay awake. Being the semi-good mom I am I went to the store a couple of days later and bought apples. It took me another day to cut up the apple but I finally did it. As I was reminding her to make sure to take her apple Chicka informed me that she can't have food in class and I quote "besides I only get tired if I don't have a good breakfast."

I have great news SLC has decided to take a second look at the skate ramp ban in their city. This is great news to us because it not only effects skaters but it also takes government out of our backyard. People should be able to peaceably use their backyard for activities they see fit. I know some people are worried about noise or unsightly looking things, but a ramps is no worse than most backyard fixtures. I'm glad to see this change. A big thanks to anyone who helped out with the emails. Yeah for involvement! Have a great day and go hug a skater!
Am I in a Comic Strip?

I feel totally overwhelmed, overstretched, and over my head! But let me back up. A couple of weeks ago I received a new job in my church. I had been working with the youth a little and at the time I thought that job was a stretch of my talents. Well not anymore! I would gladly go back to that job or any job like it cause my new job really does stretch me. Farther than I ever thought possible. I am now suppose to be organized, remember names, be RESPONSIBLE!! How scary is that? Can you imagine me, caring about someone besides myself and all of a sudden I'm suppose to care about lots of people! It's just so unnatural for me. So to make me feel better I drowned my sorrows in a wonderful cup of French Hot Chocolate. Life is okay now and that is why I feel like Cathy.

What a great weekend
I just love being able to stream stuff on the internet. Right now I'm listening to the Mo Tab will I sit here and blog. How great is that! We were able to stay home and watch Conference on our computer and even put the Saturday Afternoon on the big screen so that the kids could see their friends. Yup my kids knew a lot of the kids in the choir since they were from Kaysville and Fruit Heights. The kids had a blast pointing out their friends and seeing word members up on the big screen. I really liked having a great quite rainy day where we sat down as a family and watch something nice and cozy. Kids are so much fun! I loved seeing my oldest daughter learn that the talks are about real things and that she could even learn from them. I loved seeing my next two girls sing along with all the songs she knew and exciting whenever the camera paned over one of their friends. And my Mister sitting over in the corner coloring most of the time while my baby wander around finding different things to throw at the wall. It was a great weekend!

Kids are Great!
Can I just say that I love my kids. I really enjoy having children. There are times when they just drive me crazy and I can't wait to get out of the house, and there are times when I would love to have just a few minutes to myself, but that's what is so great! I can really appreciate time alone when I get it. I also love coming back to my kids. Most of them are usually happy to see me and will give me a hug. Chicka doesn't run up and hug me much anymore but she is beginning to be fun just to hang around. For her B-day we are taking her out for Sushi and the Musical "Into the Woods." This is all her choice. Chicka needed a Mom and Dad date the other week so we took her out to her favorite restaurant (Sizzler cause they serve steak) only to find it slammed. We suggested a great Sushi Bar just up the road and Chicka jumped at the chance. She wasn't willing to actually try the Sushi but we did try some other dishes which she liked a lot (Tempura is so Yummy!)
Everyday I'm just so happy that I get to waste my time with my kids and laugh at so many little things, experience so many small things, and wonder about so many big things. It makes me so happy to me a MOM!

Think, Think, Think
I've been telling myself that I should post about this one thing that happened. Now I can't remember what it was. Anyway our life is going along peachy keen. I actually cleaned my laundry room today and I must admit that feels really nice. Remember how I mentioned that I was going to reorganize my storage rooms. Yeah, that was a lie. I think I'm just going to clean them up to the point that they are easier to walk in and out of.
Maybe I was going to mention something about hubby getting to build himself a new shed. I don't remember what I was going to say. Sorry. Hope this post wasn't a complete waste of time. Still like typing it up so yippee for ME!

"This is not how I am"
While I was in Cali last week, I was beginning to get a little dizzy. Since I have had to deal with Hypoglycemia after Rita was born, I thought that I was just having issues with my blood sugar and decided to try eating something. Usually I can take care of my blood issues within an hour or so. But I was still dizzy. I go to the doctor and say "Hey I've been eating good, what's up with my dizzy spells" doctor answers "Your anemic, lets test your blood." So they take my blood and test it. Later the next day I find out my blood sugar looks good, Iron looks good and so does everything else. The Doctor had already gone home and I still felt dizzy but no idea WHY! Out of the blue my Mom stops by " I just wanted to see the kids oh and I brought you Honey" She can tell I'm out of it so I tell her "I'm dizzy and no one knows why, must be a tumor and I'm dying" Mom says" Oh no your not, your crystals just aren't aligned." No really, Mom says that she gets dizzy spells all the time and had to see several doctors before she found out why. We have crystals in our Inner Ear that if they get knocked out of whack (by being beat up by the ocean waves) you can feel off kilter until those cute little crystals behave themselves. Problem solved. Right? Wrong! The next day I tell my doctor this, and she says "Um that's interesting, how's your allergies? (bad) That's your problem, be careful or you'll get a sinus infection." So there you go. I'm not diabetic, amemic, or crystal crazy, I just have to blow my nose.
Have a happier day:)

Life goes on
I wanted to quote the Beatles with the title but I have no idea how to spell "Oh bli dee, oh bli da life goes oh bro howdy howdy like this song" or whatever the words are. The picture is not of Cali, but one from France.
Anyway how are you? I'm pretty peachy. We had so much fun in Cali. I like to say that I went body surfing but I really did was jump over the waves and occasionally trying to swim on top of them. I never did succeed at that. I did try to dive under a wave but I apparently don't know how. All that happened is I got a face full of salt water and I was knocked off my feet. Not good. But the jumping over was fun. I love the ocean. It was so fun to just sit and float in the water or jump waves or play in the sand. I was thinking why don't we go to the lakes more often at home. We have several options for playing in the water here, and then I remembered, we have lakes but no tide. The tide is what makes the ocean so fun. When we moved home from France that was the first thing I missed was the coming and going of the tide. I loved watching the water levels change throughout the day and season. Sometimes the tide would barely go out and sometimes the tide would go out for so long, the beach would be huge! I loved that. So all of you who live near the ocean enjoy the tide for me!

Hi-Ho-Hi-Ho It's off to school they go!!!!
School has been in session for a good two weeks now and Mister starts preschool next week!! I'm hoping to do my volunteer time on Thursdays and Tuesdays so that I can enjoys the time Mister is gone. But we'll see. Life is pretty happy. I'm still struggling with the whole cleaning thing and to be honest I'm kind of reveling in the fact that I have only two kids at home. We are playing games together and watching movies together and just having fun. I'm hoping this changes next week because I've decided to get my storage room in order. If I remember I will do before and after pictures. That IF I remember. Away I'm off for the weekend. Have a peachy-keen time!!!!!

Ramblings of WHY
Hubby and I attended Back to School Night today and I must say that I was very overwhelmed. There is so much to do in schools and so many Moms seem to do it all that I just don't know how to keep up. Now I know that sounds like I'm trying to keep up with the other moms but I'm not, I'm just trying to figure out how to keep up with all my kids. I've always been a good complainer and having 5 kids gives me plenty to complain about. But lately I've come to realize that if I'm going to have 5 kids I need to be responsible about them and raise them the right. I chose to have this many kids so I still need to do homework and change diapers and buck up. This is my choice I need to live with it. I just wish I had chosen to live with it years ago instead of just now. Had my kids been used to coming home and doing their homework right after school it wouldn't be so hard to convince them NOW that we will be doing homework every day after school. Had I read to them every day for 20mins it wouldn't be so hard to read them now AND they would be much better readers which in turn would make them better students which in turn would mean LESS HOMEWORK! But I didn't so now I have twice as much to do than I would have if I had only been good about life in the first place. I'm near tears most of the time just thinking about the time commitment, and fights and everything KNOWING that it's my own *#@% fault. Why are life lessons so hard to learn? Why can't we just start from scratch? Why must we clean up our own messes instead of wiping the board clean? In the movies life lessons are learned and everyone lives happily ever after in two hours! That sounds nice doesn't it?
Thought of the day (if you can find it among the rambles)
I just read something interesting. Blogging seems to be a great way to speed recovery. It's been found to help cancer patients mentally and physically recover better than their counterparts who aren't blogging. Apparently this has been true about journal keeping for years. Which I find interesting because we have been told by our prophets that we need to keep journals. To be honest I've never seen a real reason to keep a journal. I've never done anything worthwhile that would be cool enough to share with people in 200 years. (Lets be honest I'm always concerned with ME and how everyone really wants to know about ME, but I know I'm boring so I try to fight that trait in me) Anyway I've never been one to journal. Now blogging is a little more fun for me because then I KNOW something is reading all about ME. I can be a little self-centered and still do something I'm suppose to. But then again I just read a small piece of my husbands mothers sister's (fun way to say "Aunt") journal and it really was a great blessing to me because she felt completing overwhelmed with her life and that she would never measure up. Okay I might have added my own words in their but that's the thing, I see her today and I think "Oh yeah that woman has it ALL together and knows what she is doing in life." Now if she had never written that down years earlier it would not have buoyed my spirits up. IT gave me great comfort to know that a woman I admire struggled with her young family too. I always see these great ladies with their raised families and think why can't I be like them? But I never think that these ladies might have struggled with little kids too. That's why I should probably journal to let my kids/grandkids know how I felt. Like any of them would read it?
So how's that for a rambling thought of the day?
Oh and the question of the day is, how do you cope?
So how's that for a rambling thought of the day?

It's a Gift to be Simple, It's a Gift to be Free

Today I had my four oldest children off at other people houses and I got to pretend like everyone was in school today while stayed home and tidied up while Rita played. Then the two of us had a snack and off to bed Rita went. The great part is this.... listen, do you hear anything? The only sound in my house right now is the type keys clicking away and the laundry running. How amazing is that? I get to hear the SAME sound soon on a regular basis. I can't tell you how excited I am for school to start! Yeah for Education!!!!

My Cup Runneth Over
My wonderful Mom offered to watch my kids today while I attended BYU Education Week. I was only there for today but boy what a great experience.
A couple of the things I learn are:
-When Children have less they attach (emotionally) better.
-Life is like the wilderness; don't send your children out into it without teaching how to use a compass.
-Harmony in the Home is not achieved by having everyone sing the same note. Harmony is the blending of different notes to make a more beautiful sound.
-Oneness cannot happen without the Holy Ghost.
-If it's fair, it's not a real Trial.
Of course there was much more depth to what was taught than what I'm sharing here but these are the comments that really impacted me so I thought I would share. This really buoyed up my spirits and made me want to try harder. One teacher pointed out that with Labor Day around the corner it makes it a nice time to implement the things that we were taught. I hope I can.

Before you can understand my post, you need to understand how my brain works. My brain loves quotes and uses them most of the time. They can be quotes from TV shows, Movies, Songs, Parents, Teachers, Friends, or even something I heard in passing. When Isaac and I were first married I told him this and where all my quotes come from.
That said, this post has to do with two quotes. The first one is from my father. He would always say this whenever he or someone was really sick. "At first I thought I was going die, then I was afraid I wouldn't." Now on a different wave length this quote is from Batman Forever. It's when Bruce Wayne has been revealed who he is, the batcave has been destroyed, and Batman is half dead with Two-face pointing a gun at him ready to shoot, when the Riddler stops him saying "If you kill him he won't learn nothin'" has he leaves another riddle behind.
Okay are you following me? If not good luck!
I haven't post in a while because I have been grumpy about learning life lessons I apparently need to learn. I don't want to learn them. I want my life to be like a movie where people have heartache and trauma but then it's worth it because everything is "Happily Ever After" end of movie and heartache. But in real life isn't like that. Life is more like what Pres. Gordan B. Hinckley said something like Life is like a train ride boring most of the time with the occasional thrilling burst of speed, breathtaking vistas and something else. But the point is He's right and I don't like that. My life has been hard this week because I made it worse and I wasn't willing do what I needed to, to make my life better. But hopefully I'm over myself now and life can soon move on. I hate learning. Sometimes I'd rather die than learn. But if you give up and die then you don't learn nothin,. And I did survive the week although at times I was hoping I wasn't going to, but then I did. Things that don't kill you only make you stronger. That or they keeping beating over the head until you get strong enough to make them stop. I like that one. So there you go. I feel better now and you might understand the Chaos of my Brain that I call home.

Faith is like a seed
In my garden I have a peach tree we planted two years ago that still hasn't produced any fruit, but that's okay because I'm waiting patiently for the tree to get old enough to do so. But we do have a pear tree that the previous owners planted that gives us yummy pears in the fall.
The past owners also planted several strawberry plants that give great berries when the patch is weeded often otherwise we get little wimpy berries that are the size of a large pea. Last year I split the patch in half and tried a new gardening idea on one side and left the other to grow normally. The first half of the patch has two plants left.
We've planted ourselves some carrots, cabbage, green onions, and tomatos and they seem to be doing pretty well. But there were some volenteer tomato plants, a sunflower and I think a pepper plant. Time will tell how these fare.
I also had a couple of other plants that just showed up and didn't look like the typical weed so I let them grow to see what would happen. One plant had leaves similar to an oak tree but the middle section of it looked different. This plant produced big pods that I was hoping would turn into pretty flowers but alas, it ended up being a really big ugly weed. There was also another plant that has these beautiful flowers on it but spreads out so much that it chokes out any plants nearby so I'm guessing this is a weed too.
It just goes to show that you can't trust every seed that is planted. Something might look promising or even sound good but be detrimental to the whole garden if they are allow to take root. Then you have the hard task of removing the weed completely otherwise they lay low for a while and then come back with a vengeance. Trust me I know. When I came back from camp my garden was overrun with weeds. One of my garbage cans is FULL of weeds because I would only pull off the top of the plant and didn't bother to get the root out. A lesson I need to learn.

Quit Your Gripen!
Over the past couple of months, I have found myself saying things like "If we had a little bit more money I could balance our finances" or "If Hubby and I had more time we could get our home projects done" or better yet "If the stores were closer I would have nicer clothes" Or my favorite if the Doctors office was closer than I would make the appointment our family needs." How pathetic is that? In France I had to travel anywhere from fifteen minutes to over an hour to get where I needed to go. Here in Comfyville I have EVERYTHING I need within a ten minute radius. I also can go and buy anything I want any day of the week at any time of the day. In France ALL stores closed at 8:30PM or earlier except for restaurants. Hubby's commute is eighteen minutes. In France it was an just under an hour. I used to walk the kids to school a mile every day up and down a large steep hill through a plethora of doggie land mines. Now I never walk my kids to school because it's "too hard."
Can you say Whimp? Well No More!(hopefully) I plan on being a tougher Mom. I need to get out of my cushy life and start being proactive. In France I would have been ecstatic to be in my shoes. And I am in my shoes so I should be happy about that. In fact I am. Yeah for ME!!

A new breath of life
This blog and been lifeless for the past two weeks as I was getting ready for camp and while I was at camp, but I'm hoping to get back into the groove of comment every two to three days. If that doesn't happen remember I have kids.
So let me tell you about Camp. There were two camps up at Camp Bartlett. Wood Badge Camp and Family Camp. Hubby was in Wood Badge and us in Family Camp. Hubby stayed with us at night, helped my with the kids in the morning through breakfast and then off to classes. The kids then would help me clean up breakfast (we had to throw away our plates not hard) and then we would head down to the Flag Pole and leave the kids with their respective leaders, have Flag raising ceremony then everyone was off to class. Spouses (me) had a great class schedule we did crafty stuff or fun stuff like Horseback riding, Rafting, Repelling, Dutch Ovening, CPR training, and things with cute paper. Lunch we all had together Hubby included and then everyone was back to class. Dinner also was together and Hubby was back at class and we had a Flag Lowering Ceremony and then a skits put on by different groups in the evening. Afterwards Hubby would meet up with us and help me put the kids to bed. The whole week was like this and it was GREAT! We loved every aspect of this. Everyone wants to go back, including me. IT was that great! I'm so glad we went. If you ever get the chance to go to Wood Badge Training, take the Family Camp option because it's the best week you will ever spend. Nothing compares to having so many amazing experiences and learning new things about yourself and your family. WOW! We're going back next year and will do whatever it takes to get there.
Back in the Good old Days
I've had another friend post something that I want to comment on. She talks about watching kiddie shows with her kids. Which I think Moms should do so you can talk about things and understand what games and role-playing they are do later. When Chicka was little I watched a bunch of shows with her. My favorite to watch was Sesame Street. It would have all sorts of different art medians in it and Pixer had some little shorts on there too (this was way before Toy Story). The best part was they would have several adult jokes. Now I'm not talking "nasty adult jokes" that the media has gone haywire with but I mean jokes that only an adult would get because they were old. Like when Monster Piece Theatre did Gone with the Wind, it obviously was a take off of Master Piece Theatre, but also my favorite movie. Chicka liked it when all the Muppets and parts of the set were blown away by the wind. What I loved about it was the references to the movie the Muppets made. Or when they had REM on singing Happy Furry Monsters with a Muppet who looks like the girl from B52's who sang this with them. Again Chicka liked it because of the monsters and could have cared less about REM. Just opposite of me. But lately when I've seen Sesame Street it was so high tech that it lost a lot of its charm at least for me.
Anyway theres my two bits on whats wrong with the the world.

So Far So Good
Hubby has been gone for less then a day but we are doing great! I had a small moment (okay it was closer to three hours of gaming time but that's it) where I wallowed a little but I'm back on top and still feeling great. I go walking again tomorrow morning and that seems to help my day. My problem with walking is that I have a negative attitude about that as well. I'm glad I go walking everyday and look forward to it but I complain the whole walk. I need to work on this otherwise my walking buddies might dump me. Man I need to work on having a positive attitude with hubby and with walking. Hopefully I can do both. If not I'm sure you'll hear about it.
Good Luck with your trials! Remember that they are blessings.

Comic love
Myfriend wrote a blog about the glory days of comics and how much he misses Calvin and Hobbes. I feel his pain as does my hubby. We both LOVED Calvin and Hobbes and are consoled somewhat by our kids who love to read our Calvin and Hobbes books. All they have to do is mention a part of the comic and Hubby and I already know what they are talking about. In fact in Jr. High I cover my books and folders with my favorite comics that I have copied out of my books. It gave me something to do besides listen to the teacher or do my homework. (No wonder I failed).
But Hubby and I also take comfort in the great comics that are in the paper today. In fact the only reason I get the paper is so I can read the comics. I still ending reading almost the entire paper (outside of my comic section I love to read the business section) so I feel our money isn't going to waste. Several times when I've been upset with my paper and I wanted to cancel then only thing that stops me is that I wouldn't get my daily fix of funnies.
So here is a list (and link if I'm lucky enough) of my favorite comics:
Baby Blues
Pickles
Shermans Lagoon
Retail
Argyle Sweater
Lio
Cul De Sac This one has some horrible artwork but it's still really funny.

This should be fun.

SCATTERGORIES...it's harder than it looks! Erase my answers, enter yours
and send it on to 10 people including the one that sent this to you.
Use the 1st letter of your name to answer each of the following. They
have to be real places, names, things, nothing made up! Try to use
different answers if the person in front of you had the same first initial.
You CAN'T use your name for the boy/girl name question.

OCCUPATION: Candy Cooker
SOMETHING YOU WEAR: Cotton was the only appropriate thing I could think of. Hubby says this sounds fun and wants to try but I told him that I make things fun!

Choices
I've been getting kind of mopey lately. I haven't really wanted to do much and I struggled getting dinner on the table. Which for me is a big thing because I love making dinner because it signifies the ending of another day. But this week hasn't been my best week. I've done some good things this week like clean my basement and several loads of laundry, but I haven't been up to my full potential and I couldn't figure out why until five minutes before I began posting. My problem is Hubby is leaving me for six full days. I don't like that idea. I married the man so I could spend the rest of my life WITH HIM. Not spending the rest of my life watching him go places without me. I knew that in the beginning that my hubby was likely to travel a lot but I really didn't believe that part. I convincingly stored that in the back of my mind and said his travels should start happening around 40. Well that hasn't work out well has it?
Anyway back to the point, if I'm going to survive this coming week with my sanity, house, and family in good working order I better plan ahead and decided to not be so mopey. I have two choices: One my husband can leave and I will fall apart and let the kids run wild and let the house fall completely apart OR My husband can leave and I will keep my wits about me and the kids engaged and a menu set in place that doesn't pizza. Notice that hubby staying put is not an option. I must remember that and buck up.
So if you have any ideas for activities or meal options (no fast food please) I am ALL ears because I need all the help I can get to make it through next week.

Swiss Cheese Memory
Last night as I was updating my blog I realized that I was missing a movie I had watched. I knew that I had watch a movie before Shanghai Nights but I couldn't remember which one. I knew which section of the Video store it came from but not the title of the show or remembered what the cover art looked like. I knew it had really cool flashbacks that I hoped they would use in the Twilight movie but I couldn't remember what the flashbacks were about. And then it dawned on me The Count of Monte Cristo after that I was happy and could go to sleep. Yes was really thinking about what movie I had watched the whole night as I was getting ready for bed. Now you know how lame I can be. Anyway in case anyone was wondering the movie list is in order of viewing since the listed date. I know it's sad looking, but before I started the list I had seen Iron Man twice. That was a GREAT movie. Hubby's favorite.

Happy Happy Joy Joy
So back to life as normal. Only not so much because my walking buddy will be camping this week, then my hubby goes camping the next week then we have a week off before I go camping with the kids. Oh Joy. I must admit that I look at camping through my father's eyes. Not very kindly. I mean why walk away (literally) from a perfectly good bed and home for that matter only to go sleep on a hard ground outside with the bugs. I enjoy being outside but I love sleeping in my own bed with my fan running all night drowning out the noise of the world. So why would I go someplace that gives me NONE of the comforts of home where I will be able to hear every little creepy thing that passes by my tent in the night. Ick I am not looking forward to this. But the kids are excited and hubby is excited (must be a genetic disorder from his side) so I will go and be happy about the whole experience. We can have fun just like the Cleavers. Come to think of it, did June ever go camping?

The Silent Me
Hubby has the week off and since my priorities lie with him and not this blog. Sorry but thats the way the cookie crumbles. Which by the way is less fattening for two reasons:
One the cookie is not as dense and you tend to eat less because you can't get all the crumbs.
Two all the calories fall out when you crumble it.

Feel the Pain
For the past two days I've been walking with my neighbor and her kids in the morning. Wow, do they walk fast. I've always thought of myself as a fast walker, and I have been, but I guess I'm slacking off because I couldn't keep up with them yesterday. My legs were on hurting all day and that felt wrong! I thought forget the speed demons I'm walking my own pace tomorrow. It's still same distance but it takes me longer so I figure it's all good, right? Wrong! Hubby seems to think that the speed has something to do with burning calories and blah blah blah which basically means I should buck up. Which I did today and I'm still hurting. Isn't pain bad? Shouldn't I be avoiding things that cause pain. Doesn't the "Natural Man" want to keep everything nice and comfy and easy? I see nothing wrong with that! Help me out here people.

Being Good
Like most people I love to eat. I could always out-eat my friends growing up and was proud of the fact that no matter how much I ate I always stayed pretty skinny. Having a very active metabolism will do that to a person. (Maybe that's why I was always so hyper) So when I had kids I gained some but was able to stay in an okay weight range. But now that I'm past 30 my body is telling me that unless I get moving it will give up on me. My joints have been complaining, my back has been mean and I'm not allowed to sleep at night anymore. This just isn't fair, it's one thing to have your kids gang up on you, but to have your body go into open rebellion is down right rude! So starting today I'm going to be better at eating healthy crap and exercising somehow each day. Dang it. I hate having to do this, I have a very weak determination system, but I figure if I tell all of you then maybe I will actually keep to my guns. Wish me luck!

Major Rambling, minor thoughts
Chicka has decided that she needs to blog to let out some steam. She seems to have it puberty with full force and is looking for ways to control her emotions. Bully for her!!! She's been walking on the treadmill, hammering nails into big chunks of wood, and leaving the house. The only down side is that she won't do her reading homework. I'm trying to get better at this homework thing, but it's really hard. For me I need to really concentrate to get through homework, but just as I start to get into the rhythm of homework one of the other four needs me now or the world will explode. Oy! So much drama! That plus getting them to help around the house. If only I could twitch my nose and have everyone do what their suppose to, or at the very least I would love to twitch my nose and have the all the junk disappear, that would be great! Did you know that as a little girl I would spin in circles trying to go fast enough to turn into Wonder Women. I was positive that if I could only get going fast enough I would magically turn into Wonder Women. Funny thing is that I watched the show on You Tube and realized that Diane doesn't spin that fast at all. No Fair.

Mister, all boy (like his self portrait?)
I've been meaning to post for several days now but I haven't thought about anything worth posting. I guess I could you about the time that Mister and his friend were over here playing and his friend decided that taking the time to use the bathroom is pointless so he just didn't bother until his pants were sagging and leaving a dirty trail where ever his sat, or the time that Mister decided to go ride his bike down a steep driveway flinging his handlebars from side to side until he got going to fast and fell off face first, over maybe even the time he and a different friend decided to go to Wendy's and see if they could get a frosty on stolen bikes. But I don't think thats stuff you want to hear about. See, there really isn't much going on right now.

Of Cabbages and Kings
So what are you doing with your Stimlus Package? We are doing exactly what Pres. Bush wants us to do with it and spending it at Big Box stores and Little Local stores. I'm sure you're thinking that we are very patroic or at least very dumb for listening to that Bushy guy depending on your political leanings. Actully we are being very lucky. If you have major applanices go out, what better year to pick or timing for that matter. We've had our check just long enough to think about what to do with it, before everything began breaking down around us. Oh did I mention that the windows on the van are going out too. Oi-vei! Anyway since Uncle Sam wanted to give us a little extra spending money we are at least using it wisely. By the way if you ever need something like a washer/dryer or Kitchen appliance I suggest you run down to Duerdens in Bountiful. The had the great prices and THE BEST customer service I have seen in a long time. That right there has convinced me to always use them. Have a great day and don't forget to save for a rainy day (funny our problems began this week, which was very rainy.)

As Crazy as I say I AM
When I was in high school I noticed that as long as you admitted insanity people would forgive you for being a little weird. So as a little experiment I decided to start saying that I wasn't crazy. Ever time I did something strange, which was often, I would always say something like "At least I'm not Crazy" or maybe I would state "I love being Sane." Which would always have the same affect, people thought I was going mad. When my best friend started to really worry about my mental stability, I decided that the experiment was over and that I should just admit to being crazy so that everyone would think I was normal.
Well now I've noticed that as long as I state that I am a bad parent, someone is always ready to rush to my side and say "No, your a great parent, you care!" even if they have no real knowledge that I'm a bad parent or not. Now I'm not about to test my theory that people tend to believe the opposite of what you say about yourself as I did in school. Meaning I'm not going to start saying that hey at least I'm a great parent, in case someone might really think that I'm a horrible parent and call DCFS. You never know these days, If my best friend really thought I was going crazy what might a PTA mom think about my parenting skills. Anyway just an interesting observation about humans. Admitting that your ARE something, people tend to think that your NOT. For instance, say your fat and people will always tell you, you're not.
I wonder if this would work for civic service? I can just see someone running for Mayor with this idea. "I am not your next Mayor" or "I'm not worthy of being voted for". Someone might what to try it ... or might not.

My friend posted a thought on the art of manliness and it reminded me a a discussion Hubby and I had awhile ago.
We have 4 cute and wonderful girls.
We have 1 great, all out boy.
How do you raise a girl "to be all that she can be" and still teach a boy that "it's all him." My girls like to watch the show Annie Get Your Gun but there are some issues that we have with it. Annie has to pretend that she isn't the greatest sharp-shooter so that she can marry the man she loves. But then on the flip side, I don't like the fact that Frank Butler (the love interest) is pig-headed. Plus the song "Anything you can do I can do better" isn't' the most conducive song to teach children to share and appreciate each others talents.
Anyway today's blog is a rambling mess. Hope it makes sense, if not ask questions in the comments and I will try to figure what you are saying.

Hello, remember me?

Apparently I have not updated this blog as often as I should. So I will try and repent of that now. But honestly this has been a busy week. I can't wait for school to end tomorrow or for Saturday to come. As some of you may know my cute daughter Munchkin is getting baptized on Saturday! (and of course you are all invited) We are so excited for her and glad she has made this choice. And yes she did make this choice and was not brainwashed into it. She has a real testimony though small it may be. I'm really impressed with my kids because it seems to me that they are more aware of what is happening around them and what it means. I've always heard the statement that kids today know so much more than we did at their age, and I always thought "Well yeah, you forgot most of it and much of the stuff I know didn't exist when you were growing up." I was a very arrogant child. But it really is true, it's like their brain can process more info than we can or could. I'm so happy to see Munchkin make this step in her life and I can't wait to be a part of it. (Or can I since she asked me to talk about the Holy Ghost, Yikes)
Anyway my family is doing well and happy and I hope all of you are too!

A Pretty Lame Job of Songwriting but hey, that's how I am.
Yesterday was a really bad day for me. My daughter was driving me crazy so I got in the car a drove away. While in the car the song "She Drives Me Crazy" by Fine Young Cannabils came on and it gave the song new meaning. Here is the words to the song (and my two cents on every verse).
I cant stop
The way I feel (This sounds like what a teenager would say)
Things you
Dont seem real (What a parent says back to the teen)
Tell you what I got in mind
cause were runnin out of time (Sounds like homework time to me)
Wont you ever set me free?
This waitin rounds killin me ("Mom and Dad don't understand me")
She drives me crazy (How I felt yesterday about Chicka)
Like no one else
She drives me crazy
And I cant help myself
I cant get
Any rest (Again with the parents line)
People say
Im obsessed (More like... Children say, their oppressed)
Everything thats serious lasts
(Everytime I hear her groan)
But to me theres no surprise
(Makes me want to brake her phone)
What I have, I knew was true
(What I have, I truly love)
Things go wrong, they always do
(But she lost, my other glove)
She drives me crazy.....
I wont make it,
On my own (Why we need prayer in our lives)
No on likes,
To be alone (Lets try... I just like, to bathe alone)
She drives me crazy
Like no one else
She drives me crazy
And I cant help myself
I cant stop

Yeah for Blessings!
As you have all read before, I have been struggling with how to do everything and still balance my home life. Well as I was reading the Church News this weekend I came across a talk Pres. Monson gave at Womens Conference, this is a part of his talk...
Into the tapestry of life are also woven threads of service, love and kindness to others, President Monson said. "Sometimes, my dear sisters, you feel inadequate and ineffective because you can't do all that you feel you should. Rather than continually dwelling on what still needs to be done, pause occasionally and reflect on all that you do and have done. It is most significant.
That really cheered me up, plus I later read (as someone has commented) Mosiah Chapter 4 which talks about only doing as much as you can. And on top of that we had some great Mother's Day talks in Church. I felt really great Sunday. Then today I read the great comments that you sweethearts had left. Thank you so much. It's great to have friends like you who are willing to buoy me up when I need it.
Stay happy and Cute!--ME

Please, we're talking serious
On a deeper note;
I want to write today about something I've been pondering about for a while. I'm hope that putting these thoughts down into words might help me figure out what I'm trying to learn here.
For a couple of months I felt like I had things under control. Nothing was perfect but I felt nothing was getting away from me. Laundry was doing okay, housework was doing well, not ever done, but I never felt overwhelmed and the kids' homework was being worked on most nights, I felt like I had a good hand on my life.
But then my friend Jane needed some help, so being the person that I am, I dropped everything to help her out. For three days I was over at Jane's house helping her with what ever she needed help with. Hubby even tagged along to help. But now here's the catcher, my house completely fell apart during that time. Not all my time was being spent at Jane's, I had other things come up that also needed my attention but
I spent most of my time there. Not that I blame Jane for any of this. It was my choice and I'm more than happy to live with it. Plus it taught me a very valuable lesson that I need to learn. Which I'm still trying to figure out.
So the question I'm asking you (and I do want all of you to answer) is this. Can you give too much and how do you know what too much is? Does that make sense. I honestly believe right now that I probably went too far in helping Jane. I think I should have helped her after I knew my own house was in order. But honestly if I waited for my own house to be in "Order" before I helped someone, I'd never help anyone, which I know is wrong. There have been several times when I have said things like "Sure I can help you and sure I can get this done too" only to not get any of it done, or instead start to work on my commitment at the last hour only to stress my whole family and Hubby to no end. I don't think they deserve that treatment.
So basically what I'm saying is how do you "Control Chaos" and still serve others?

Tagged thingy with Questions

Do you like blue cheese?
Only in certain things, like when it's used as a garnish
Do you own a gun?
Would like to.
What flavor Kool Aid is your favorite?
Mountain Berry, But they don't make that anymore so I'd have to say Black Cherry.
Do you get nervous before doctor appointment?
Only if something is really wrong, otherwise I look forward to them as a chance to learn something new.
What do you think of hot dogs?
Tasty, Hubby just introduced me to steamed buns. Oh now that is GOOD!
Favorite Christmas movie?
So many to choose from, um most anything old (and for any youth who reads this that does not mean movies from the 80's, it means movies that usually don't have color) But "A Christmas Story" is the one that comes to mind right now.
What do you prefer to drink in the morning?

Can you do push ups?
Just tried and I can do a pretty whimpy one.

Yes and not just Dixie.
Favorite color?

What song do you want played at your funeral?
I would probably want something utterly depressing and heart wrenching but since I won't be in charge, it's a mute point.

I was looking at the pictures that Hubby added and came across this one. Mister had gotten in big trouble for something so I put him in the corner. Officially he was acting up because he was tired. But that's not the only thing about this picture. By some luck of the draw my house was clean that day. Note that nothing like school papers or dirty clothes or whatever else is scattered across my floors. Isn't nice to have a clean house. I know I'm beginning to enjoy them more. If only I could figure out a way to keep it clean before AND after the kids come home from school. Now that would be cool.

"I've Got you... Sweetie
Hubby's mother is an amazing lady who has taught me a thing or two. Okay like 1,548 things. But of the things that I like about her is she likes to be treated with respect. And one way to get a lesson on respect is to call her babe. I personally have no issues with the word but I know Mom does. Not that this is an issue we have often. It's one of those little things you learn and bookmark in your brain as so to never make a mistake with. Well the funny thing is, is Mita today, who happens to be named after Mom, also has strong opinions too. (By the way never name a child after someone with a strong personality unless that is what you really want.) Anyway Mita was doing a great job on her homework and I said to her "way to go babe!" She stop dead center and looked at me with these "do not cross me" eyes and said "I am not a babe don't call me that." Okay then.

NEW PICTURES
Trumpets Sound here (only I don't know how to really do that)
Mister can now ride a two wheeler. YYEEEAAAAHHHHHH! Last week Hubby set him up on a nice set of wheels which I MADE him add a second set too. I figure if I have to deal with him riding the bike more than hubby does that means I get my way! Well that idea didn't really work but since Hubby is very smart and knows how to dodge a fight he put on the training wheels telling me how unnessary they were. Well he was right. Today I noticed that Mister rides pretty well as it is and is always correcting for whatever the training wheels were doing anyway. Besides that he also learned that if he sat on the driveway at just the right angle he could sit and spin his tires wearing a good size whole in them. So we took the wheels off and to be honest I thought that they would have to go right back on again. Silly me that kid just tore out of here as if nothing had happen. Well that means we have four trained and one more to go. YEAH for ME!!!!

Okay my Boy is also Cool
While Mr. was saying his own prayers with me he decided he could say the prayers all by himself. So what he did was he turned to his side opposite me and whispered to himself what he wanted to say. For instance he would whispered thank thee for the food and then he would turn back and say louder thank thee for the food. It was so cute.

No Really, My Daughter is the Best
Have I ever told you how cool Chicka is? She is downright awesome! A couple of weeks ago we were all sitting in Church and asked if she could be in charge of FHE. I'm thinking sure, less work for me and a good experience for her. How could I go wrong? Well not only did she write the lesson herself she gave it a "Which Way" ending. It was really amazing. She also had picked out the songs and who was going to pray and lead and EVERYTHING!!! I must say that she did a great job on the whole thing and made her parents feel proud!

Remember when...... Now who was doing that?
As we were driving home Sunday night the kids were doing something cute and Chicka said "Mom shouldn't you be blogging this?" And I had to agree, but for the life of me I can't remember what they were doing that was so cute. Or who was doing it! So somewhere in my brain is a really cute story about one or two or three or four or maybe all five of my children. But it's lost in the vast regions of sleepless nights, crying fits, really cute moments, all the "firsts" and everything else that my children of done that fills my hear and brain to capacity (ahh how cute, I might be sick). But if you ever need a quote from a Movie or TV show or how a jingle goes (it would have to be back in my TV days, mind you) then call me up! I'm always able to tell you that the in Star Trek 47 secs is the magic number to doom or that in Mary Poppins Bert drops his accent when ever his making a point. OR even better what jingle Alka Seltzer had back in the 80's. I have lots of useless info that is willing to come out but nothing of the good stuff. Too bad for you!

Kids and Movies Make a Great Combo!
Hubby wanted to rent a movie and watch it on the big screen with the kids today. When went down and immediately I headed to the "Musicals" section of the store. Okay I just deleted like four lines of boring fluff that has nothing to do with my real point. So on the suggestion of the clerk we rented E.T. (Hubby didn't need much convincing) and brought it home. Chicka had watched the movie before when she was maybe 6 years old, but no one else has. Well the kids were kinda of scared of the aliens at first then scared of the "hanging keys guy" but soon fell in love with the film. Of course when the movie was about half way over Chicka began guessing that the "keys guy" was really there long lost father. She's already trying to turn everything into a soap opera and hasn't even seen one yet. Some kids. Anyway when E.T. began to talk Mister flipped. He thought that was so cool. Then at the end of the film Mister was asking if he could have a friend like that. Every 5 minutes "Wow that is so cool I want to have a friend like that." Finally when the movie was over and all the kids were satisfied that ET wasn't dead and got to go back home Mister asked his Dad over and over again if we could get him a friend like that. Dad finally said "If you can find an alien than you can keep him. Mister pumped his armed back and said Yesss!

I love to read updates!
You know, I like to check blogs everyday. I could even be persuaded into posting every day if I thought someone was obsessed as I was with blog checking. My dear chicken friend updates her blog once in a while, but when she does, there is like 5 postings on there. (she is really snazzy and adds new pictures and everything, she must have a better camera that likes her)I have another cute friend who adds short sweet random thoughts on her site almost daily, which I love, but then her sib posts once every four months or so. Basically what I'm beating this bush for is this: How often do you check posts and how many are out there that read my posts. That's it, just want to know if anyone out there likes what I a blog about (have you ever noticed that blog and blah blah blah sound similar?) and how often I should update. Cause if you think I'm doing this for my own good you've got to be crazy. I do this for laughs! SO heres what's going to happen next. I'm going to try and put another poll on here and then you need to answer it. K? Alright here we go.

So what's up with you?
Hello everyone I'm so happy to be blogging at you again. How's everything going with you? Oh that's great! How is _________ (submit someone else you love/like here) doing. I'm glad to here that. What new things are you up to these days? WOW! I never saw you as that type of person. I'm glad your out there trying new things. How is _______________ (again somebody else) doing now. Oh I'm sorry to hear that. I hope they start feeling better soon. Is there anything I can do? A meal or maybe some flowers or a visit? Well you let me know and I'll keep them in my prayers. Well it was great visiting with you! Hope to see you again soon! BYE
I don't know about you, in fact if I was to guess I would say that you are a better person than me! But like I was trying to say a second ago, I have a very hard time not talking about myself! I'm like that Country song " I want to talk about me, I want to talk I, number one and me oh my" or however that song goes. But that really is me. And guess what I just realized just recently. I'm not that interesting to other people. Go figure! I have always had someone come up and ask me how I was doing and ask about me, so I assumed that I really was that great of a person to listen in about. I think, but I'm not sure, that everyone was actually asking to be POLITE, something I don't get, but I'm beginning to understand that it's very important if you want to have friends. So that is what I'm working on right now is trying to train myself to not revolve around me. Which is really hard because I'm like a big vortex waiting so suck things in around me. Which is apparently bad. So many rules to learn and not a lot of books to learn them from. If you have any ideas on how to be interested in others or at least fake it well, and are willing to teach me please comment! Thank you and good night! Love ya! and me too.

Pictures?
Remember a couple of weeks ago I commented on how I didn't know how to get the pictures off my camera and on to my computer and then on to my blog? Well most of that is still true. I've learned how to get the pictures on my computer on to my blog, but that's it. Yes all those lovely pictures you've been seeing, are just old. Notice my baby is not in any of them. And I still have no clue how to fix it. My camera is just odd and I don't like it. So until I break down and get know my camera and allow it to be part of my life and make it feel wanted, I don't think the camera will play nice and give me my pictures. Maybe I should name it? Any ideas?

Oh Yeah, I forgot to Post.
So Apparently I haven't posted in a long time. Ten Days I think? Anyway that is way too long. Of course loads has happen since I last posted, but I can't remember what.
This week we are preparing our garden. I just don't know what we are preparing it for. Hopefully this year it will be something tasty like beets and pickles instead of the weeds we grew last year. Their not as tasty as you might think. Plus they hurt your hands, and are ugly, and produce more weeds that hurt and look bad and then it becomes a never ending cycle that is so burdensome that you just decide to hide in your house pretending that you don't have a garden and have no clue what the neighbors are complaining about or what the joggers are staring at and hoping this is all a bad dream that you can wake up from but then never do until the snow falls and everything is okay again.
Sorry gardening isn't my strong point and I'm kind of scared of it. I keep hoping that one day I will wake up and be told that it's okay, you don't have to garden just go out and buy 314 cans of corn and green beans and your family will survive. But I don't foresee that happening. Too Bad eh?

Too Young
So I heard tell of a mother who suggested to her daughter that she has to wait to get married until she is at least 19. And as usual I got upset. 19 is far too young and people shouldn't be getting married at that age. The other year in the Dear Abby Section of the paper I read about a mother who wasn't sure what to do about her 18 year old daughter dating a 21 year old man. Again I was really upset. No one that young should be dating anyone near that age. He was FAR too old for her.
Did I happen to mention that Isaac was twenty-three and I was nineteen when we were married? And that I began dating Isaac when he was twenty-two and I was fresh out of high school?
Isn't it interesting that when we are younger some things are okay, like mixing our peas and potatoes and gravy all together and then eating with a roll, but when we get older the idea is repulsive.

Should I Stay or Should I Go?

My Husband has never stay in the same spot four years straight since he was 8 years old. I have never stayed in one spot for more than five years. We are coming up on our third year in our house and Hubby is getting a little jittery. He has even been looking at jobs elsewhere in the country. So when a job offer in Florida came up, Hubby was very interested. Even made a trip and looked at the area. There was a lot of things about the offer and area that was appealing. So we prayed about it, did some research (we could sell our house and get a house with a pool near Disney World with little debt) and decided to........
How about this weather? I tell ya I am not a fan of cold weather. I am ready for it to be spring. The kids are excited for summer too. They think that they will be spending the summer at Cherry Hill again. But since the Utah Dept. of Health might ban all children under 5 from public pools again, I am not going to waste my money on a pass I can't use.
Oh and in case you wanted to know, we are going to be living in Kaysville.
YEAH!!!!

I'm Almost Cool
The results are in and the polls say that you think (at least the people brave enough to read my whole blog AND vote) that I am the coolest Mom on the planet. 80% thought I was cool and 20% of you thought I was lame. But since 20% is one person I don't feel too bad. Except that Chicka agrees with you. Sometimes Munckin and Mita agree with you also. But that's okay. I know that 80% of the people who read my blog love me. Which is um, four people..... and I have five kids. Math isn't on my side today.
On to happier news. Um.......well.......I'm thirty-two now. And..... I..... have great kids...........who think I'm lame. So how are you????

Questions, Questions
Okay my Cute Sis-in-law-in-St.Diego has "tagged" me. I guess that means on need to bare my soul to all of you with these deep personal questions. Let the Wild Rumpus Start!
Donuts or bagels? Powdered Donuts, or maybe, yum Chocolate Covered Custard Bismark, ooh ooh better yet, Raspberry filled powder Donuts.
Rice or noodles? Since Tomato ANYTHING is my favorite item to eat and since most Pasta dishes come with a marinara I like Noodles. But not rice noodles, they are plain gross. But there is a Indian dish that uses rice and Tomato base sauce so rice to work too. My answer, Tomatos please.
Soup or salad? Mostly Salad, unless I'm really cold then soup.
Mexican or Italian? Sad to say but sorry it's true.... No clue.
Purse or shoes? Um I hate shopping and thats when I would have to carry a purse, shoes are needed for chasing children down the street. I'll pick shoes, plus they make my feet not hurt.
Morning or night? Poor Isaac married a night person. But I do my best cleaning in the morning.
Summer or winter? Summer when it's warm and I have passes to pools, and no school to get kids too, and can read, a lot!
Candy or chocolate? Please, what can of question is this. Hand of the Chocolate and no one gets hurt.
Going out or staying in? I love to go out because I stay in so much.
Laundry or dishes? The only constant in life is Dishes and Laundry because they have to been done all the time. Death and Taxes can cheated out of or at least put off.
Skirt or dress? Jeans and a Tee shirt, oh that wasn't an option, um skirt I guess.
Flip-flops or tennies? Tennis Shoes. Flip flops are icky with that plastic toe thing bothering you the moment you put them on begging you to kick them off RIGHT NOW. Sorry bad memory.
Walking or jogging? Walking, at Mach 3.
Hot chocolate or chocolate milk? Hot Chocolate made somewhere in Europe.
Water or juice? Um lets see which one has more sugar? I know bug Juice.
TV shows or movies? I know this seems weird coming from the Non TV gal but TV shows. Which is why I don't have a TV. I can watch them ALL DAY LONG!
Cats or dogs? Dogs because they're fun to rile up and get them barking so much that the owners get really mad. I love doing that. Husband says I can't have a dog.
Diet or reg. soda? Diet is for wimps. Manly men take it leaded!
Cake or pie? "I like pie" -- From the movie "Michael" I would so love to live that scene.
Hair up or hair down? I love to have my long hair pulled up off my neck. Oh wait I have short hair, never mind.
Mountains or beach? Beaches are usually warm, Mountains are usually cold, Um Beaches, besides I liked that movie.
Pink or blue? Blue is depressing.
Drama or comedy? How about a Dramedy?
Hamburger or hot dog? Hamburgers, dripping with so many yummy things that you have to go do the Laundry.
McDonald's or Wendy's? Mcadee's is funner to say but Wendy's Kids meal are cooler and donate to the National Adoption fund.
Football or baseball? FOOTBALL!, grunt grunt grunt. UGH!
Epidural or natural? Life is so happy on meds!
Care bears or my little ponies? Care Bears, but the My little Ponies had a better TV show.
CD or radio? CD's put my kids to sleep.
Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty? Sleeping Beauty had better art direction and Music. Plus her dress kept on changing color. How cool is that. Did you know that Disney used to market her dress as blue until they came up with the whole "Princesses" Theme. Since Cinderella was blue, (actually more white than blue but they didn't ask me) Aurora had to be pink so they could use the whole crayon box.

Camera Inept
Yesterday I was helping Chicka with her homework (it was Math and I understood it and was helpful! Yeah for ME!)and I was playing with my Camera cause Isaac says that if I don't like the camera maybe it's because I don't spend enough time with it. So there I was playing with it when I realized that Isaac was right, we do have a really great camera. It can do all sorts of amazing things. But only if you know how to ask the right questions and maybe can do the secret handshake. I still don't like it and want a new. Until this gets resolved there will be no pictures on this blog. Well maybe I could add some from France. Thats it, no NEW pictures on here until the Camera and I can come to a compromise.
And now the computer is out to get me. I was doing a spell check and for seract (secret) it gave the suggestion of "overacts" or "underacts" and on relsoved (resolved) it said I should try "quarrelsome" or "sovereign" I had to call my Mom to learn how to spell. So much for feeling smart about helping Chicka with her homework.

My kids are so much fun!
Two quick stories I want to share. Over the weekend Cute little Rita ate some lint I had just pulled out of the dryer. At first I thought she was just being silly because she kept growling at me. Not until I realized that her growls were producing small pieces of blue lint that I found out she had eaten the dryer lint. YUCK!!!
The next story is about MR. We were driving around today running errands when out of the blue Mr. says that he wants to go to heaven and live with Jesus. I said that was a great idea and that he was going to need to be a good boy. Well at this, his eyes grew really big, like deer in headlights, and then timidly and dejectedly said, Okay.

Help Me!
Hello Again. Somehow I deleted my last blog. I need to spend some time on this and try and figure out what all these buttons mean. Anyway let me remind you that I won't be using real names in this blog because it makes my Sweet Husband and I feel saver about the whole WORLD WIDE WEB in your face deal.
Anyway right now my lovely husband is off at the Church with the YM and has kindly taken our boy Mister with him. YEAH!!! I really needed a break from him for a few hours. I know that he is just trying to be a helpful boy and save me from having to do more work around the house, but that always seems to back fire on him. BIG TIME. I'll have to tell you about it some other time when I'm calmer.
Right now my oldest, Chicka, is listening to "Hannah Montana" nice and loud with her friend and all dressed up and rockin' it out. Oh to be a tweener again. NOT! I'm so glad to be old and not have to worry about all this girl stuff again.
Munchkin my Second Grader decided not to do any work in school and now has a bunch of homework. She was doing so good for the past week I don't know what happened! Maybe it was the day off from school because of Pres. Day. I don't know.
Mita my cutie first grader is doing well in school and let me tell you, no kid of mine has picked up on math facts so quick as this girl has. We were playing this game called "SET" last night a of course Chicka did well because she is older and has played this game before with friends but Mita picked up on it faster than I was expecting anyone. I have mentioned that she beats her father and me at Mancala. She is smart little whip.
We've already talked about Mister. Still a little mad at him so we'll move on to...
Rita, my cute baby. You know I have never had a child throw a tantrum at this young of age, but she throws them on a regular basis. It's gotten to the point where I am putting her in her room until she calms down. On the first try it took Mita forty-five minutes to calm down. Yesterday she calmed down in ten minutes. Still really long for a child of 15 months but it is getting better.
I'm still trying to figure out how and why to keep a clean house, but I found a good way to keep in clean. Have people over, often. Lets see, this month alone we have had people over at least three times. Thursday I'm having Book Club at my house. Hello Scary. I'll let you know how that goes. Hopefully well. Of course it's going to go great positive thinking here! Eek.
You know as I sit here listening to Hannah Montana I realize that it's kind of Sad/Scary/Maybe Good, that I know all the words to most of Hannah's Songs. What do you think. Is it good that I'm involved so much with my kids and their Music that I can sing along with my kids or does that show you what a horrible life I have? If I can figure out how to poll this question please take my poll. If you don't see anything that looks like a poll that means I'm still trying to figure it out or just upstairs crying because I'm computer illiterate.

एंड सो आईटी बेगिंस
Welcome to my new blog. I've sent this out to just a couple of people and it seems to be working so I guess we really are "IN." You might have noticed that the title of my blog is Controlling Chaos. Which I feel is what I do most of the time. But if you happened to note that my my web address is Troll Chaos it's because if I lose control than it's like living with a Troll. I mentioned this to Isaac and he didn't comment, only laughed. Smart boy.
I have a friend that on her website she doesn't actually name her kids she just uses nicknames. I'm guessing that is for safety reasons and so no one who doesn't know and happens to stumble across her website won't have a clue what she is talking about. Since I love this idea here are my kids in birth order. Chicka, Munchkin, Mita, Mr, Rita. Get it? Got it? Good.
Well Rita isn't very happy so thus ends my thoughts for today.
Be lovely.
P.S. I have no idea how I got the weird lettering at the top.
