Feel the Pain
For the past two days I've been walking with my neighbor and her kids in the morning. Wow, do they walk fast. I've always thought of myself as a fast walker, and I have been, but I guess I'm slacking off because I couldn't keep up with them yesterday. My legs were on hurting all day and that felt wrong! I thought forget the speed demons I'm walking my own pace tomorrow. It's still same distance but it takes me longer so I figure it's all good, right? Wrong! Hubby seems to think that the speed has something to do with burning calories and blah blah blah which basically means I should buck up. Which I did today and I'm still hurting. Isn't pain bad? Shouldn't I be avoiding things that cause pain. Doesn't the "Natural Man" want to keep everything nice and comfy and easy? I see nothing wrong with that! Help me out here people.

Being Good
Like most people I love to eat. I could always out-eat my friends growing up and was proud of the fact that no matter how much I ate I always stayed pretty skinny. Having a very active metabolism will do that to a person. (Maybe that's why I was always so hyper) So when I had kids I gained some but was able to stay in an okay weight range. But now that I'm past 30 my body is telling me that unless I get moving it will give up on me. My joints have been complaining, my back has been mean and I'm not allowed to sleep at night anymore. This just isn't fair, it's one thing to have your kids gang up on you, but to have your body go into open rebellion is down right rude! So starting today I'm going to be better at eating healthy crap and exercising somehow each day. Dang it. I hate having to do this, I have a very weak determination system, but I figure if I tell all of you then maybe I will actually keep to my guns. Wish me luck!

Major Rambling, minor thoughts
Chicka has decided that she needs to blog to let out some steam. She seems to have it puberty with full force and is looking for ways to control her emotions. Bully for her!!! She's been walking on the treadmill, hammering nails into big chunks of wood, and leaving the house. The only down side is that she won't do her reading homework. I'm trying to get better at this homework thing, but it's really hard. For me I need to really concentrate to get through homework, but just as I start to get into the rhythm of homework one of the other four needs me now or the world will explode. Oy! So much drama! That plus getting them to help around the house. If only I could twitch my nose and have everyone do what their suppose to, or at the very least I would love to twitch my nose and have the all the junk disappear, that would be great! Did you know that as a little girl I would spin in circles trying to go fast enough to turn into Wonder Women. I was positive that if I could only get going fast enough I would magically turn into Wonder Women. Funny thing is that I watched the show on You Tube and realized that Diane doesn't spin that fast at all. No Fair.

Mister, all boy (like his self portrait?)
I've been meaning to post for several days now but I haven't thought about anything worth posting. I guess I could you about the time that Mister and his friend were over here playing and his friend decided that taking the time to use the bathroom is pointless so he just didn't bother until his pants were sagging and leaving a dirty trail where ever his sat, or the time that Mister decided to go ride his bike down a steep driveway flinging his handlebars from side to side until he got going to fast and fell off face first, over maybe even the time he and a different friend decided to go to Wendy's and see if they could get a frosty on stolen bikes. But I don't think thats stuff you want to hear about. See, there really isn't much going on right now.

Of Cabbages and Kings
So what are you doing with your Stimlus Package? We are doing exactly what Pres. Bush wants us to do with it and spending it at Big Box stores and Little Local stores. I'm sure you're thinking that we are very patroic or at least very dumb for listening to that Bushy guy depending on your political leanings. Actully we are being very lucky. If you have major applanices go out, what better year to pick or timing for that matter. We've had our check just long enough to think about what to do with it, before everything began breaking down around us. Oh did I mention that the windows on the van are going out too. Oi-vei! Anyway since Uncle Sam wanted to give us a little extra spending money we are at least using it wisely. By the way if you ever need something like a washer/dryer or Kitchen appliance I suggest you run down to Duerdens in Bountiful. The had the great prices and THE BEST customer service I have seen in a long time. That right there has convinced me to always use them. Have a great day and don't forget to save for a rainy day (funny our problems began this week, which was very rainy.)

As Crazy as I say I AM
When I was in high school I noticed that as long as you admitted insanity people would forgive you for being a little weird. So as a little experiment I decided to start saying that I wasn't crazy. Ever time I did something strange, which was often, I would always say something like "At least I'm not Crazy" or maybe I would state "I love being Sane." Which would always have the same affect, people thought I was going mad. When my best friend started to really worry about my mental stability, I decided that the experiment was over and that I should just admit to being crazy so that everyone would think I was normal.
Well now I've noticed that as long as I state that I am a bad parent, someone is always ready to rush to my side and say "No, your a great parent, you care!" even if they have no real knowledge that I'm a bad parent or not. Now I'm not about to test my theory that people tend to believe the opposite of what you say about yourself as I did in school. Meaning I'm not going to start saying that hey at least I'm a great parent, in case someone might really think that I'm a horrible parent and call DCFS. You never know these days, If my best friend really thought I was going crazy what might a PTA mom think about my parenting skills. Anyway just an interesting observation about humans. Admitting that your ARE something, people tend to think that your NOT. For instance, say your fat and people will always tell you, you're not.
I wonder if this would work for civic service? I can just see someone running for Mayor with this idea. "I am not your next Mayor" or "I'm not worthy of being voted for". Someone might what to try it ... or might not.

My friend posted a thought on the art of manliness and it reminded me a a discussion Hubby and I had awhile ago.
We have 4 cute and wonderful girls.
We have 1 great, all out boy.
How do you raise a girl "to be all that she can be" and still teach a boy that "it's all him." My girls like to watch the show Annie Get Your Gun but there are some issues that we have with it. Annie has to pretend that she isn't the greatest sharp-shooter so that she can marry the man she loves. But then on the flip side, I don't like the fact that Frank Butler (the love interest) is pig-headed. Plus the song "Anything you can do I can do better" isn't' the most conducive song to teach children to share and appreciate each others talents.
Anyway today's blog is a rambling mess. Hope it makes sense, if not ask questions in the comments and I will try to figure what you are saying.
