Twice this week I have seen videos that have talked about texting and driving. The first one I watched was a British video that is graphic and hard to watch. The second one is locally made that lighter in detail but still made me cry. I refuse to own a cell phone because I know I would be greatly tempted to use it while driving. And if I can get into accidents without a cell phone just the idea of the damage I could cause with a cell phone is scary. The videos are long but well worth the time.
Be Careful. Drive Serious.

Back to School
I would love to show you pictures of how cute (and handsome) my kids looked on their first day of school. In fact I would love to add fun pictures to most of my posts. But I can't. Rita, my very cute and dangerous Two year old, has broken my camera. I'm sure your thinking that she probably dropped it in the toilet or something of that sort where she messed up the electrical stuff. No, it's nothing that simple. She removed "The Button." A friend of my likes to call it the PHS button as in Push Here Stupid. Yes Rita removed the all powerful picture taking button. I figured at first it wasn't that bad and that hubby to just snap it back on, but as many of you know electronics aren't that simple. This is something that only camera shops can fix and only for half the price of a new camera. Oh Joy!
So as soon as I can calm down about the camera enough to go buy one (this will be our THIRD digital camera in 5 years, not happy about that) I will let you see how great my kids look on their ____ day of school.
Be happier than ME.

Busy. Busy, Busy
Last May I was saying to myself, "I can't wait for summer to start so that my life can calm down. Now I'm saying " I can't wait for school to start so that my life can calm down." Why is that so? I know why I'm saying it now. It's because in just one short (or very long depending on your point of view)week I will have a schedule that isn't very changeable. Next week I know exactly where most of my children will be. The timing of everything won't change, the routine won't change. I love having a schedule that I can't muck up. True I will still be busy. I'll have to take someone to dance everyday of the week. Then Mister is starts soccer soon which kills all of our Saturdays until Halloween. Hmm, maybe I will enjoy this one last week of freedom.

Grateful
I'm now back from trek and WOW what an amazing experience. I am so impressed with the Youth in my stake, they are just simply wonderful people. Our "theme song" for trek was As Zion's Youth in Latter Days and let me tell you these kids fit the bill.
Anyway I've learned several things on trek that I want to share with you.
1. I'm out of shape. I couldn't handle how physically demanding this trek was so I committed to myself today that I'm going to exercise everyday this week, Swimming and Yoga are on my list.
2. The Youth today are GREAT. See above if you don't believe me.
3. I need to stop taking the small things for granted. Have you ever really appreciated the fact that you have a flushing toilet? Or that if your cold at night you can just turn off the fan and grab another blanket? Or the sheer fact of being clean every day. I came home with the darkest tan, but then it all washed off and went down the drain.
4. Prayer Works. We had a week of interesting weather, but just when things were supposed to get worse, many heartfelt prayers were offered and the wind and rains were stayed.
5. My babysitter is the coolest person on earth. I came home to a completely cleaned house and the cutest video of my kids on my computer. (If you want to see the video let me know and I'll email to you)
There is so many other great things that I learned (like my Husband is the most amazing reliable person on the planet who can do just about anything!!!) but this post is getting too long and I don't want to bore you to death. Just if you get the chance to go on Trek as a MA and PA, take it, you'll love every minute of it.
Stay Cute!

Trekkin
Pioneer Treks are so awesome! Tomorrow I leave on my third trek. I went on one as a youth way back when BYU used to do treks, but it was a little weird because my Ma and Pa were college students and my Ma couldn't care less about helping out a bunch of dirty kids. Besides the PA in the next camp was cuter so she spent most of her time over there anyway. Several years later Hubby and I got to go on one when Mita was just a little, little baby. It was a much better experience and we both really enjoyed it. The only problem with that one was that the Ma (me) was a bit of a pop-off and kept zinging the kids. I was on a role with all the comebacks I had. SO this time around I'm praying that I will be more humble and be a better Ma and actually help this new batch of kids feel the Spirit. Cause that's what it comes down to. Trek is only great if kids let the Spirit touch them. Having to physically push yourself past a point where you've never gone before is really humbling and I think that's one of the reasons why Pioneer Treks work so well. You KNOW the Pioneers did this same stuff only without decent shoes and no Camelbacks. I'm hoping I can do my best to be humble and not be cocky like last time. I'm going to need help so please pray for me.
