Hello, remember me?

Apparently I have not updated this blog as often as I should. So I will try and repent of that now. But honestly this has been a busy week. I can't wait for school to end tomorrow or for Saturday to come. As some of you may know my cute daughter Munchkin is getting baptized on Saturday! (and of course you are all invited) We are so excited for her and glad she has made this choice. And yes she did make this choice and was not brainwashed into it. She has a real testimony though small it may be. I'm really impressed with my kids because it seems to me that they are more aware of what is happening around them and what it means. I've always heard the statement that kids today know so much more than we did at their age, and I always thought "Well yeah, you forgot most of it and much of the stuff I know didn't exist when you were growing up." I was a very arrogant child. But it really is true, it's like their brain can process more info than we can or could. I'm so happy to see Munchkin make this step in her life and I can't wait to be a part of it. (Or can I since she asked me to talk about the Holy Ghost, Yikes)

Anyway my family is doing well and happy and I hope all of you are too!

A Pretty Lame Job of Songwriting but hey, that's how I am.

Yesterday was a really bad day for me. My daughter was driving me crazy so I got in the car a drove away. While in the car the song "She Drives Me Crazy" by Fine Young Cannabils came on and it gave the song new meaning. Here is the words to the song (and my two cents on every verse).

I cant stop
The way I feel (This sounds like what a teenager would say)

Things you
Dont seem real (What a parent says back to the teen)

Tell you what I got in mind
cause were runnin out of time (Sounds like homework time to me)

Wont you ever set me free?
This waitin rounds killin me ("Mom and Dad don't understand me")

She drives me crazy (How I felt yesterday about Chicka)
Like no one else
She drives me crazy
And I cant help myself

I cant get
Any rest (Again with the parents line)
People say
Im obsessed (More like... Children say, their oppressed)

Everything thats serious lasts
(Everytime I hear her groan)

But to me theres no surprise
(Makes me want to brake her phone)

What I have, I knew was true
(What I have, I truly love)

Things go wrong, they always do
(But she lost, my other glove)

She drives me crazy.....

I wont make it,
On my own (Why we need prayer in our lives)

No on likes,
To be alone (Lets try... I just like, to bathe alone)

She drives me crazy
Like no one else
She drives me crazy
And I cant help myself

When we're helping we're happy....

I was outside the other day when the weather was gorgeous and I was feeling pretty good so I went and weeded my garden and rock bed. Laura thought this looked fun and decided to help. I pulled weeds out and she pulled out dirt. At least she was trying to help, right?(I would have posted this the same day as the picture was taken but please remember I have camera issues)

Yeah for Blessings!

As you have all read before, I have been struggling with how to do everything and still balance my home life. Well as I was reading the Church News this weekend I came across a talk Pres. Monson gave at Womens Conference, this is a part of his talk...

Into the tapestry of life are also woven threads of service, love and kindness to others, President Monson said. "Sometimes, my dear sisters, you feel inadequate and ineffective because you can't do all that you feel you should. Rather than continually dwelling on what still needs to be done, pause occasionally and reflect on all that you do and have done. It is most significant.

That really cheered me up, plus I later read (as someone has commented) Mosiah Chapter 4 which talks about only doing as much as you can. And on top of that we had some great Mother's Day talks in Church. I felt really great Sunday. Then today I read the great comments that you sweethearts had left. Thank you so much. It's great to have friends like you who are willing to buoy me up when I need it.

Stay happy and Cute!--ME

Please, we're talking serious

On a deeper note;

I want to write today about something I've been pondering about for a while. I'm hope that putting these thoughts down into words might help me figure out what I'm trying to learn here.

For a couple of months I felt like I had things under control. Nothing was perfect but I felt nothing was getting away from me. Laundry was doing okay, housework was doing well, not ever done, but I never felt overwhelmed and the kids' homework was being worked on most nights, I felt like I had a good hand on my life.

But then my friend Jane needed some help, so being the person that I am, I dropped everything to help her out. For three days I was over at Jane's house helping her with what ever she needed help with. Hubby even tagged along to help. But now here's the catcher, my house completely fell apart during that time. Not all my time was being spent at Jane's, I had other things come up that also needed my attention but
I spent most of my time there. Not that I blame Jane for any of this. It was my choice and I'm more than happy to live with it. Plus it taught me a very valuable lesson that I need to learn. Which I'm still trying to figure out.

So the question I'm asking you (and I do want all of you to answer) is this. Can you give too much and how do you know what too much is? Does that make sense. I honestly believe right now that I probably went too far in helping Jane. I think I should have helped her after I knew my own house was in order. But honestly if I waited for my own house to be in "Order" before I helped someone, I'd never help anyone, which I know is wrong. There have been several times when I have said things like "Sure I can help you and sure I can get this done too" only to not get any of it done, or instead start to work on my commitment at the last hour only to stress my whole family and Hubby to no end. I don't think they deserve that treatment.

So basically what I'm saying is how do you "Control Chaos" and still serve others?
